Vigil to be held Sunday for missing woman
The Kansas City Star
Family and friends of Summer Shipp are planning a candlelight vigil Sunday to mark the fifth month she has been missing.
The vigil will begin at 6 p.m., weather permitting, at the intersection of Forest Street and West College Terrace in Independence. That's the neighborhood where Shipp, 54, last was seen Dec. 8, when she was going door-to-door for a market-research firm.
Organizers said the vigil is intended to draw attention to Shipp's absence and that possible perpetrators remain a danger to the community.
